Resolve does not guarantee an easy road. It does make you much harder to stop.
Determination is powerful because it keeps showing up after emotion changes. When the feeling fades, resolve carries the mission the rest of the way.
Wilcox often wrote in a deliberately energizing register. This line works best as a reminder that endurance is not passive. It is chosen.
