Not to Yield

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Persistence is sometimes less dramatic than this line sounds, but no less real. It is the long refusal to abandon worthy pursuit. Tennyson gives momentum to aging courage here. The line does not promise easy conquest; it dignifies sustained effort in the face of diminishing ease. Its endurance lies in cadence and conviction together. Resolution can remain alive even when conditions no longer feel youthful.
