A mature life stops expecting unmixed experience. Strength grows when reality is al lowed to be complex. This line helps by lowering the false demand for purity in every season. Good and ill often arrive braided together, and wisdom learns to live honestly inside that mixture. Shakespeare's image remains rich because it is true to ordinary life. Resilience is easier when disappointment is not treated as an anomaly.
