Provision often comes from staying near the work that is actually yours. Faithfulne ss is sometimes more fruitful than novelty. The proverb is agricultural, but the pattern is wide. Tending one's real field, rather than chasing constant distraction, is one of the oldest forms of discipline. The line lasts because it honors ordinary labor without apology. Much of life is fed by sustained attention to the near task.
