Deuteronomy 15:8
"but you shall surely open your hand to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, which he lacks."

Gill's Exposition

But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him,.... And give him bountifully and liberally; in order to which the heart must be first opened, the affections moved, and a

willing mind disposed to give generously: and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need in that which he wanteth: enough to answer his present exigencies, but not to cause him to abound, or to supply him with things needless and superfluous.
