For he served Baal, and worshipped him, and provoked to anger the LORD God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.

Commentary

For he served Baal, and worshipped him,.... That is, Ahaziah served him, as his father h ad done, and his mother still did: and provoked to anger the Lord God of Israel, according to all that his father had done; of which there is an instance in the first chapter of the following book; for falling through a lattice, and becoming sick upon it, he quickly died, having sent messengers to inquire of the god of Ekron whether he should die or not.
